It can be really helpful if you periodically measure your fitness (2-4 times a year). From this you can then chart progress and identify weaknesses. This means you can set out the fastest way to increase on field performance.
The video shows some simple tests to do for agility, strength and speed. They take about 15 seconds each per test. The second half of the video show more full and thorough testing procedures.
